Catholic CrossCultural Services (CCS) requires a Settlement Counsellor (Spanish-Speaking).

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking 1 FT (35 hours/week) Settlement Counsellor (Spanish speaking) to provide settlement counselling services to ISAP eligible immigrants.

Responsibilities:

Provide settlement counselling services, including case management at both on-site and off-site locations

Provide assessment, information and orientation services

Facilitate appropriate referrals and access to services in the community

Organize, plan and implement group sessions

Conduct community outreach to promote CCS programs and services

Participate in regular program, team and regional meetings

Prepare and submit statistical and progress reports to supervisor as required


Qualifications:

Social Work degree or Settlement Counselling diploma from recognized institution or equivalent training in Human Services field

Work experience in settlement and/or community work

Knowledge of community resources and services

Interview, assessment, analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to work effectively with other service providers

Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrant and refugee communities

Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills with participants, other agencies and the public

Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting

Ability to work productively in an MS Office environment

Excellent oral and written English skills

Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is required

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

This is a full-time position.
Salary: $45,000/Annum
